And that concludes the second feature of the Origins Unknown series! Maybe the cliffhanger didn't catch you completely off-guard this time, but man -- what a place to end it!! Caught in the act! Such a wonderfully crafted plan -- AND IT WAS WORKING!!! Even I want to know what's to happen next! Can I get a round of applause for Jacob who has continually done an AMAZING job illustrating this series! He's already getting started on our next and FINAL arc for this volume and I can tell you now, it just may be the best story yet!

And just so you DON'T think that you've got us figured ALL THE WAY out -- there's at least one more MAJOR twist just waiting to be revealed! So stay tuned as the adventures continue and thanks for all the support you've shown already!

I'm SOOOOOO sorry this is posting so late -- I got caught up in some other work that I hadn't finished lettering it yet (OOPS!)! BUT...as you can see, this was DEFINITELY worth the wait (just LOOK at the AMAZING JOB, Jacob is doing)!! Wow -- that Grandpa sure is crafty, ain't he?! If that loophole of his works, can you imagine what he'll do -- what he goes all supervillain and plots revenge on his son -- what if Benjamin refuses to give up the power himself?! AHHH! So many possibilities!! Tune in next week to see which way the pendulum swings!!!

But leading that life almost always carries a negative consequence that we barely consider -- having to lie to protect our identities, hurting others with our power or in this case, being so focused on the job that we hurt the ones we love. HOW COOL IS THAT?! I know I personally thought my grandfather was a superhero, but what if he ACTUALLY was one?! Man -- my little head would've EXPLODED! HAHA! And that mace -- like some cool cross between Hercules' mace and a Green Lantern ring! But then it begs the question, if the mace is in the chest, why can't he open it? MAN -- WHAT A RELIEF!! After last week, I was SOOO worried that little Benjamin was about to be on the receiving end of an ol'school BEAT DOWN!! One of the drawbacks of ever looking "Just like yo' daddy", I guess...does kinda make you wonder why Grandpa's so agitated with his son, huh? Anyways -- how cute was Ben offering to keep it a secret?! A little mischevous curiosity can go a LOOOOONG way -- I just hope it's in the RIGHT DIRECTION! This series started off as a simple drawing in a sketchbook from my high school days and quietly sat in the back of my mind for AGES! That's right -- The. End. Finito. Cue the robust lady that sings! That's the catch of this feature -- it's all a "First Act" play, much in the same vein as M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable or Brian Wood/Becky Cloonan's DEMO series; in each tale, the main character learns some secret about themselves that will lead them down a heroic or villainous path and then boom, we're on to the next one. While I hope the red herring of an ongoing series following Mitch's efforts to save the world was enough to keep you reading, I hope more that hitting you with a cliffhanger won't deter you from coming back! Thanks for all the support, thus far and we hope to see you in just a few weeks when Jacob and I return to launch the follow up, POINTS OF AUTHORITY!

An alien invasion?! Offspring augmentation?! FATE OF THE WORLD?! FINALLY, this SIX WEEKS STRONG mystery has come to a head! Did you guess it? Did you see it coming? I'm sure a few of you did, but no matter what, I hope you've enjoyed the payoff! You have NO IDEA how glad I am to get here -- this idea has been gestating for the better part of a decade, and STILL almost didn't see the light of day due to its similarity with a major plot twist from the first year of Invincible (Kirkman/Ottley). Oh, but wait -- the fun's not over. I've got one more trick up my sleeve and OH BOY -- is it a doozy! Stay tuned!

We're at the series kickoff of Origins Unknown, the anthology that finds three random folks learning that they come from EXTRADORDINARY and life-altering backgrounds. The first story to get the ball rolling is, "Breaking the Habit" -- and as you can see, things are already off to an interesting start: a teeanage boy, looking for his dad, at the park in the middle of the night?! Shenanigans are BOUND to ensue!
